Warrant Issued For Father Of UA Football Player

Central Islip, NY – An arrest warrant has been issued for former New York Giants star Mark Ingram after he failed to report to federal prison on money laundering and bank fraud charges.

Ingram, who pleaded guilty in November 2005, had been ordered to surrender to a prison in Ashland, Ky., last Friday, but he never showed up.

A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's office on Long Island, where Ingram was prosecuted, said a warrant for Ingram's arrest was issued on Monday; he was still on the lam as of Wednesday.

The 1991 Super Bowl standout pleaded guilty to laundering money he believed to be proceeds from narcotics deals and to bank fraud for cashing counterfeit checks. He has sought to remain free until after the college football season so he could watch his son's freshman season as a running back at the University of Alabama.
