James Puts $2M Into Ala. Gov. Race

Montgomery, AL – Greenville businessman Tim James has made $2 million of his own money available for his Republican campaign for governor.

James filed a campaign finance report Friday showing he had given his campaign a $2 million line of credit. James has already drawn down more than $1 million of the money.

James says the personal commitment allowed him to begin his campaign early. State law doesn't allow candidates to start taking contributions until June.
