Boaz, AL – The family of Gov. Guy Hunt revised his funeral arrangements Sunday to have all events in two days instead of three.
Hunt, who was 75, died Friday at a Birmingham hospital after a long battle with lung cancer.
The family of the two-term governor announced that his body will lie in state at Mount Vernon Primitive Baptist Church located on Alabama 69 between Cullman and Baileyton from 8 a.m. Tuesday until 8 a.m. Wednesday. Hunt served as pator of the church.
On Wednesday morning, his body will be taken to the Bevill Center at Snead State Community College in Boaz, where it will lie in state until a state memorial service begins at 11 a.m. That will be followed by a funeral service in the Bevill Center at 12:30 p.m., with burial following in Mount Vernon Cemetery.
The family had originally planned to have separate days for the memorial service and funeral.
