Decatur, AL – An information systems coordinator who set up a computer for Rep. Sue Schmitz says she never used the machine in her time with a youth training program.
Schmitz is on trial accused of getting paid more than $170,000 but doing no work for the Community Intensive Training for Youth program where she was hired in 2003.
Information systems coordinator Justin Hancock testified Monday.
He said he set up a computer for Schmitz in the CITY program's Huntsville site but when he came back a month later the computer or e-mail did not look like it had been used.
The computer was later moved so students could use it.
Schmitz, D-Toney, is being tried for the second time on four federal charges of fraud involving a program that receives federal funds and four counts of mail fraud.
