Birmingham, AL – A new trial date has been set for an Anniston architect who is accused of bribing former two-year colleges Chancellor Roy Johnson.
The trial of Julian Jenkins had been scheduled to start Monday, but was continued at the request of defense lawyers.
U.S. District Judge Karon Bowdre set the new date as July 6 and also issued new deadlines for lawyers to file motions.
Lawyers have five days before trial to submit any special questions or topics they want to raise with prospective jurors. Proposed jury instructions are also to be submitted five days before trial.
