UA Falls Off List of Top Party Schools

By Associated Press

Tuscaloosa, AL – The party's over in Tuscaloosa: The University of Alabama has fallen off a list of the nation's top party schools.

The Princeton Review didn't include the Capstone in its annual ranking of the top U.S. campuses for partying, which goes on sale today.

Alabama was ranked 19th on the list last year, and there was a time when it was near the top. Bama ranked No. 2 nationally as a party school in 2000.

But the school has tried to put more of a focus on academics, and it didn't make the top 20 this year.

Penn State University is No. 1 for 2009. Florida is No. 2 this year, followed by two other Southeastern Conference universities, Ole Miss and Georgia.
