Time Shuttering `Southern Accents' Magazine

Birmingham, AL – Another part of the Birmingham-based Southern Progress magazine company is folding.

Time Inc. said Thursday it will shut down its Southern Accents magazine. A Web site that goes by the same name will continue operating, however.

The 32-year-old magazine was published six times a year and focused on luxurious homes, entertaining, travel, fine arts and antiques.

The announcement marked the second time in eight months that Time has quit publishing a magazine put out by Southern Progress Corp. Cottage Living magazine went out of business in January.

Southern Progress is best known for Southern Living magazine.
