By Associated Press

Montgomery, AL – Alabama health and education officials have scheduled a news conference to discuss the state's preparations for swine flu.

State Superintendent Joe Morton and Assistant State Health Officer Dr. Charles Woernle will hold a briefing at 1 p.m. in Montgomery about what Alabama parents and schools should know to prepare for the 2009-2010 influenza season.

Swine flu is circulating in the state and officials say parents need to be aware that they should be ready for whatever the season may bring.
