Montgomery, AL – Alabama could have a new chancellor for two-year colleges in place this fall.
The State Board of Education agreed Thursday to set Sept. 21 as the deadline for applications.
The board will interview finalists on Oct. 1-2.
Board Vice President Randy McKinney said the board could select a chancellor Oct. 2 if is there is an overwhelming favorite or the board could wait until later if several candidates stand out.
The board is looking for a chancellor because Bradley Byrne resigned to run for governor.
