Bus Boycott Anniversary Marked In Ala.

Montgomery, AL – Civil rights figures, including two children of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., are celebrating the 54th anniversary of the start of the Montgomery Bus Boycott.

The Montgomery Advertiser reports that among those gathering in the city are Martin Luther King III and Bernice King, Little Rock 9 member Earnest Green and the Rev. Joseph Lowery, longtime leader of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference.

Martin Luther King III will deliver a tribute to those who have dedicated their lives to pursuing liberty and equal rights for African-Americans.
