Montgomery, AL – The new commander of Gov. Bob Riley's antigambling task force says an Alabama casino owner may have been obstructing justice when he hired a detective to trail the last task force head.
Mobile County District Attorney John Tyson Jr. was picked by the governor Monday to head the Task Force on Illegal Gambling.
Tyson questioned whether Victoryland casino owner Milton McGregor crossed a legal line when he hired a detective to follow former task force leader David Barber to an Indian casino in Mississippi, where Barber won $2,300.
McGregor said Monday citizens have a right to monitor activities going on around them.
