Lincoln, AL – A recall of about 344,000 Honda Odyssey minivans made in Alabama won't affect production at the company's plant at Lincoln.
Honda spokesman Ted Pratt said Tuesday the recall over braking system problems only affects vehicles from the 2007 and 2008 model years. Production at the Alabama plant is going ahead on its normal schedule.
The recall includes both the Odysseys and 68,000 Honda Elements.
Honda says that over time, brake pedals on the recalled vehicles can feel ``soft'' and must be pressed closer to the floor to stop. Left unrepaired, the problem could cause loss of braking power and possibly a crash.
The Honda plant at Lincoln has been the sole maker of Odyssey minivans since the 2005 model year.
