GOP Gubernatorial Candidates Begin Debating

By Alabama Public Radio

Tuscaloosa AL – The July 13th runoff election is about two weeks away and the race for the Republican gubernatorial nomination is heating up. The two candidates are now meeting in a series of debates. Republican gubernatorial candidates Robert Bentley and Bradley Byrne met earlier this week in a debate in Oneonta. They have three more such meetings scheduled over the next two weeks. Tonight, Byrne and Bentley will hold a debate at the Cahaba Grand Conference Center in Birmingham beginning at 8. Alabama Public Television will broadcast a one hour debate Tuesday July 6th from 7-to-8. WHNT Channel 19 in Huntsville will broadcast another 30-minute debate between Bentley and Byrne the next night at 7. That meeting will be taped earlier in the day and rebroadcast in its entirety, commercial free.
