Montgomery, AL – The state Personnel Board is unhappy with how Attorney General Troy King is handling settlement talks that could mean several million dollars for state employees who participated in a deferred compensation plan offered by Nationwide Retirement Solutions.
The board voted 3-1 Wednesday to ask Gov. Bob Riley to intervene in the lawsuit because board members said King is not providing information about the negotiations. The board is hoping Riley could increase the flow of information.
King says he's trying to get the best deal for state workers who participated in Nationwide's plan and the board's actions could jeopardize negotiations to settle the lawsuit.
