Huntsville, AL – Construction is expected to begin on Huntsville's billion-dollar Redstone Gateway office park before Christmas.
The Huntsville City Council has hired the firm of Brasfield & Gorrie to oversee the project's general contractors and subcontractors that will install the infrastructure for the 4.6 million-square-foot office park off Interstate 565.
The Birmingham-based firm will earn $1.67 million for managing the massive construction project.
The city is now ready to solicit bids for the first phase, which includes mass grading, relocating an old NASA railroad spur and Tennessee Valley Authority electrical substation, and shifting Redstone Arsenal's fence deeper into the base.
Sewer lines, access roads and road improvements will be added later.
