Montgomery, AL – Legal defense funds are being established for two state senators charged in a corruption case over pro-gambling legislation at the Alabama Statehouse.
Supporters have established a legal defense fund for state Sen. Quinton Ross of Montgomery, and one is in the works for state Sen. Harri Anne Smith of Slocomb.
The two are among 11 people indicted in an alleged scheme to buy votes in support of a proposal that would have allowed Alabama voters to decide whether to legalize electronic bingo.
