Ala. Democrats Make Davidson New Executive Director

Montgomery, AL – Bradley Davidson has been named executive director of the Alabama Democratic Party.

Party Chairman Mark Kennedy on Tuesday named Davidson, a Selma native, to be the party's executive director. He replaces former executive director Jim Spearman.

Davidson is the former executive director of Empower Alabama. That's a nonprofit organization that worked to increase civic service among young people. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama and is pursuing a graduate certificate in public administration from the University of Virginia.

Davidson takes the executive director's position after last year's elections that saw Republicans sweep all constitutional offices and take control of the Alabama Legislature.

Davidson said he sees this as an opportunity to lead the party in a new direction.
