Speaker To Discuss Legislative Plan To Create Jobs

Montgomery, AL – Alabama House Speaker Mike Hubbard has created a commission to study ways to boost job growth in Alabama.

Hubbard said Wednesday the Speaker's Commission on Job Creation includes business leaders from across the state. He said the commission would be led by state Republican state Rep. Phil Williams, who is co-owner of Synapse Wireless in Huntsville.

Hubbard said at a news conference at the Capitol the commission would come up with common sense ideas to help businesses expand their payrolls. He said the commission has been asked to submit its ideas to the Legislature by April 15.

The commission plans to hold a series of meetings across the state. The first will be at 6 p.m. Feb. 15 at Chan Auditorium at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
