Teach For America To Send 55 Teachers To Ala.

Montgomery, AL – Teach for America announced Wednesday that it plans to place 55 new teachers in Alabama's schools in the fall.

Representatives say the placement in Alabama is part of the largest entering corps in the organization's history.

The 55 new teachers are set to join 30 returning teachers as part of a group of 85 teachers who will be teaching in Alabama schools in the fall. Teachers will be placed in schools in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa for the first time in the Teach For America organization.

Teachers from the organization will also be teaching in Selma and in Butler, Hale, Greene, Lowndes, Marengo, Perry and Sumter counties.
