Birmingham, AL – Over the weekend an estimated 2,500 people from all faiths and backgrounds joined together in Birmingham for a common cause... to protest Alabama's strict new immigration law. Organizers of the interfaith candlelight vigil and march from Linn Park primarily are worried the new law would make criminals out of members of the faith community who provide aid to immigrants who turn out to be in the country illegally. Alabama Public Radio's Ryan Vasquez was there as the demonstrators gathered, and produced this "sound portrait."
