Alabama Casino Lobbyist Changes Testimony

Montgomery, AL – A casino lobbyist who pleaded guilty in Alabama's gambling corruption investigation has changed some of her testimony under questioning by defense attorneys.

Country Crossing lobbyist Jennifer Pouncy testified Thursday that indicted Sen. Jim Preuitt sought nothing from her before she offered him $2 million in campaign contributions to vote for pro-gambling legislation. She also said Preuitt never told her that he officially wanted the $2 million.

She also testified that she incorrectly told the FBI last year that indicted Sen. Larry Means sought a $100,000 campaign contribution in return for his vote. She testified Thursday that he sought the contribution, but he never tied the contribution to him voting yes.

Both Preuitt and Means voted for the gambling bill when the Senate passed it on March 30, 2010.
