Alabama and Florida likely foes for SEC college football championship

APR's Pat Duggins

The Crimson Tide and Florida Gators each made their case for a slot in this month’s SEC Championship game in Atlanta. Alabama quarterback Mac Jones passed for nearly four hundred yards for four touchdowns in the Tide’s 55-17 victory over defending CFP National Champions LSU in Baton Rouge.  University of Florida Quarterback Kyle Trask threw four touchdown passes in the Gators’ 31-19 win over Tennessee. The season isn’t over for either team, though. Alabama will play Arkansas next Saturday after COVID-19 delayed that game originally set for this weekend. The Gators will play LSU next Saturday after that game was postponed back in mid-October. The coronavirus also impacted the schedule for Alabama and LSU. Both teams were supposed to have faced off in mid-November, but the Tigers didn’t have enough scholarship athletes available for the game due to exposure to the virus, so the match was postponed until last night. The Vols were playing with a reduced roster against Florida last night due to COVID-19, with sixteen players not able to take to the field.
