Alabama State Health Officer Dr. Scott Harris updates Alabama's residents on COVID-19's spread in March, in Montgomery, Ala.

Alabama's number of COVID-19 seems to have stabilized, but officials are still worried about the amount of people receiving intensive care.

State Health Officer Scott Harris said the state still faces a "real crisis" of an overwhelming amount of mostly unvaccinated patients in ICU wards.

In his report on Friday, Harris also said hospitalizations dropped below 2,700 for the first time in over a week, but there are not enough available ICU beds for those who need them.
