A Texas man has died after an industrial accident occurred in Decatur on Monday morning.

Decatur Police say that officers were called to Nucor Steel in Trinity, AL around 8 a.m. after a forklift reportedly hit a contracted employee. The man was identified as Texas resident Don Burton, who was working as a contractor for Delta Fabrication and Machine of Daingerfield, Texas.

Air transport services were initially requested for Burton, but declined to come out due to bad weather. Burton was instead rushed to Huntsville Hospital via ambulance, where he later died.
