Another challenger has stepped forward to face Gov. Kay Ivey in next year's gubernatorial primary.

A former ambassador to Slovenia under President Donald Trump, businesswoman Lindy Blanchard announced her candidacy on Tuesday. She said she is running because "people made it unmistakably clear to me that they wanted a conservative outsider" in Montgomery, not just in Washington D.C.

Blanchard will also face Morgan County Commissioner Stacy George and toll road developer Tim James.
