Alabama political scientist Bill Stewart dies at 80

A retired University of Alabama political scientist died at the age of 80 on Sunday. 

William H. "Bill" Stewart Jr. taught at Alabama for over 40 years and mentored both students and state politicians. 

The Hartselle native was known as an authority on Alabama history and politics in the news. 

Stewart's wife Connie said her husband got his love of politics from his father who served in the state Legislature.
