For the first time in 30 years, streams and wetlands throughout America could lose Clean Water Act protections under a Bush Administration proposal. NPR's John Nielsen has the story.

John Nielsen covers environmental issues for NPR. His reports air regularly on NPR's award-winning news magazines, All Things Considered, Morning Edition and Weekend Edition.
