Aleutian Wildlife Refuge Threatened by Oil Spill

NPR's Noah Adams discusses efforts to clean up an oil spill in the waters off Alaska's coast with Dan Magone, owner of Magone Marine, a business that specializes in emergency ship repair and salvage services in western Alaska. The 738-foot Malaysian-flagged freighter Selendang Ayu broke apart in gale-force winds just offshore from a sensitive marine ecosystem, and there are fears the tons of heavy bunker oil used as fuel could devastate the coast.
