Helm is a graduate of the Transom Story Workshop and of Yale University. Before coming to work at NPR, she helped start an after-school creative writing program in Sitka, Alaska. She is originally from Los Angeles, California.

Leo Swager is an intern in the Alabama Public Radio newsroom. He’s majoring in Finance and News Media, and he loves watching basketball and playing hockey.

Audrey Zimmerman is a student intern in the Alabama Public Radio newsroom. She is a freshman, from Georgia, majoring in News Media and Communication Studies. Aside from working in the newsroom, Audrey enjoys baking, singing, and hanging out with friends.

Lila Jane Bonds is a student intern in the Alabama Public Radio newsroom. She is a freshman majoring in Communication Studies with a minor in Advertising/Public Relations. Outside of the newsroom, Lila Jane enjoys dancing, watching musicals, and meeting with friends in local coffee shops.
