Bill Nye, also known as the science guy, is set to speak at The University of Alabama on Monday. Nye is trying to gain support for more science education in elementary schools and to concentrate on evolution at higher education schools. According to PBS, one of the production companies for Bill Nye, the Alabama State Board of Education had a unanimous vote to update the science curriculum for 2016. Alabama schools will now be required to teach about evolution and climate change. Nye will speak at 7 p.m. about the necessity of teaching evolution. Although admission is free, tickets are mandatory. There will be 3 locations to pick up the tickets. Find more information on the event section of the University’s website.
