First Lady Asking for Blankets for Needy

By Alabama Public Radio

Montgomery, AL – First Lady Patsy Riley wants to collect blankets for Alabama's less fortunate this holiday season. The statewide drive is called "Blankets With a Blessing." Riley says she'll attach a written message to the blankets when they're delivered to shelters in the state. She also says she hopes they'll provide both physical and emotional warmth for those in need. Alabamians can drop off blankets at sites in Montgomery, Birmingham and Huntsville.
