Gov. Bentley Says He Will Call A Special Session On Insurance

Montgomery, AL – Gov. Robert Bentley has renewed a pledge made during the campaign for governor that he would call a special session of the Alabama Legislature to seek a solution to the problem facing coastal residents and business owners who are seeking insurance.

Stan Virden, a member of a coastal citizens group, said Bentley has told his group he would see that the coastal insurance issue is resolved by the end of the year.

Bentley met in Montgomery Wednesday with members of the Homeowners Insurance Initiative, a citizens group seeking lower prices and more options in the homeowners insurance market in Mobile and Baldwin counties.
