Birmingham, AL – Bama Rising organizers say the tornado relief benefit raised more than $2 million at the June 14 concert at Birmingham's Civic Complex.
More than 13,000 people attended the tornado relief benefit concert to help raise money for recovery efforts throughout the state. The group Alabama headlined the five-hour benefit concert.
Concert organizer Ali Harnell said the event made more than $1 million through ticket sales alone.
Proceeds will go to the Bama Rising Fund at the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham, where they will be distributed to charity groups helping tornado survivors throughout the state.
