WARRIOR, Ala. (AP) — Authorities say a body with a gunshot wound has been found off a road in a rural area in Alabama.
Jefferson County Coroner Bill Yates tells AL.com that the man's body was discovered Sunday morning in Warrior. He says it was found off a logging road where no homes or businesses are nearby.
Authorities had been called about an unresponsive person off the road. The man has not been identified and Warrior police are investigating.
Warrior is a suburb of Birmingham roughly 23 miles (37 kilometers) north of the city.
