Alabama police make second arrest in 1999 slaying

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — Authorities in Mobile, Alabama, say they've made a second arrest in a more than 20-year-old homicide.

Police say 40-year-old Dammon Wright surrendered at the Mobile County Metro Jail on Monday. He's charged with murder in the slaying of 24-year-old Marcel Chandler, who was found shot to death inside a wrecked car in December 1999.

Another man, 42-year-old Jamelle Thomas of Mobile was charged with murder in the slaying earlier this month.

Court records don't list an attorney for Wright.

Thomas hasn't entered a plea but is due in court on July 1 for a preliminary hearing.
