Fair to open in Montgomery with changes despite pandemic

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — The Alabama National Fair is opening its gates amid the coronavirus pandemic, but with added precautions such as limited occupancy and lots of hand sanitizer.

The Montgomery Advertiser reports that the fair begins Friday and runs through Oct. 18 at the Alabama Fairgrounds by Garrett Coliseum in Montgomery.

Alabama National Fair General Manager Randy Stephenson said they feel they can conduct the fair safely. He said it is important for patrons to do their part such as practicing social distancing and cleaning their hands.
