An Alabama representative is proposing the removal of the Confederate flag from the state's coat of arms.

Rep. Laura Hall, a Democrat from Huntsville, has pre-filed three bills related to removing Confederate language and imagery. The bills will be part of Alabama's next legislative session that begins Feb. 2.

The Alabama Coat of Arms currently features the Confederate flag as well as the flags of Great Britain, France and Spain, which all once held territory in what became Alabama.
