University elections board denies mismanagement of Homecoming race

The University of Alabama Student Elections Board issued a report on Tuesday responding to allegations made by the student newspaper that this year’s homecoming queen election was invalid.

In the report, the board apologizes for not responding to questions or requests for interviews from the newspaper, but responds to allegations individually, responding with “false, missing context, or true but missing context.”

This report comes after a week and a half of controversy, which included The Crimson White publishing a story stating that not all election rules were followed, the vice president for student life Myron Pope issuing an email to the student body in response, and the CW writing another story in response to Pope.

Mclean Moore was announced the winner on Friday the 22, and then crowned at the homecoming football game the following day, where she was audibly booed by some parts of the student section.
