He's been to areas of conflict in Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Lebanon, the West Bank, Sudan, the Philippines, Northern Ireland and more. A book of NACHTWEY's photographs, "Deeds of War," was published in 1989 by Thames and Hudson.
