Multiple published reports say legislation making its way through Congress could ban the sale of Mercedes Benz cars and trucks in the U.S., possibly including those built at the European automaker's North American plant in Tuscaloosa.

Host Scott Simon talks with 72-year-old Irv Gordon. His 1966 Volvo P1800S needs about 30,000 more miles to reach the 3 million-mile mark. His license plate reads, "MILNMILER."

Irv Gordon has been driving, and driving, and driving some more, since he bought the P1800S in 1966. "I have a feeling I'll be dead long before the car," says the retired school teacher.
