Gain experience with the great tool of the potter’s wheel. Demonstrations will include wheel throwing, building off the wheel, and a variety of decoration techniques, including slip-decorating, stamp-making, stamping, and some others. Come, experiment, work with earthenware clay, and share ideas. Personalized instruction will enhance your learning experience. You will take home a group of bisque-fired pieces showing your exploration in clay and a collection of new skills.
Mobile Museum of Art presents 3 American Artists, an exhibition showcasing the work of three renowned African American artists: Mark Bradford, Barkley L. Hendricks, and Glenn Ligon. These artworks are loans from the collection of the Art Bridges Foundation. This exhibition features artists who have defined the art world through their works that focus largely on themes of race, gender, sexual identity, class, and pop culture.
The 2022 Annual MAC Members’ Show features 53+ artists in a variety of artistic mediums and styles representative of our area. Unlike our typical month-long exhibitions, this show will be featured in our gallery throughout the months of July and August! We will announce the awards, sponsored by the Dempsey & Litchfield Fund, on August 12th during LoDa ArtWalk.
The 2022 MAC Members’ Show will hang in MAC’s Gallery @Room 1927 from July 6th, 2022 – August 31st, 2022. The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
