She appreciates all forms of media and hopes to develop a career in reporting. In her spare time, she enjoys serving at her church, shopping, and advocating for IBD awareness.

Poppy Jacobs is an international student from England interning at Alabama Public Radio. Poppy majors in Political Science and Philosophy. She plans to pursue a career in journalism after completing her studies. In her free time, Poppy enjoys watching sports, particularly soccer (“football”) and Formula 1 motorsports, as well as reading, working out and travelling with her friends.

Alex Pfenenger is a student intern in the Alabama Public Radio newsroom. He is a senior at the University of Alabama studying Creative Media. He has a passion for creating audio content, which lead him to podcasting and radio work. In his free time, Alex enjoys watching sports, listening to music, and serving at the local church.

Hadley Elsesser is a student intern in the Alabama Public Radio Newsroom. She is a sophomore at the University of Alabama studying public relations, communication studies and criminal justice. She hopes to acquire a career in liaising for government and law enforcement or investigative reporting. Even though she is not an Alabama native, Hadley enjoys the warm weather the Yellowhammer state brings. She says it is a nice change of pace from the snow in Michigan.
