The head coaches in the College football championship semifinals all have one thing in common. All four of them once worked for Alabama’s retired head coach Nick Saban.

Alabama’s men’s basketball team is hoping to make up for a bruising loss to the Ole Miss Rebels. The catch is, Saturday’s game is against Kentucky which just beat Texas A & M eighty one to sixty nine.

Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe and Alabama's offense busted out of the doldrums in the second half and the 13th-ranked Crimson Tide's defense was strong throughout in a 24-10 victory over number fifteen ranked Mississippi.

Jaxson Dart didn't back down. Mississippi's starting quarterback suddenly faced a challenge for the job during the spring after coach Lane Kiffin brought in two transfers, including four-year Oklahoma State starter Spencer Sanders. Dart, who leads the fifteenth-ranked Rebels against number thirteen Alabama Saturday in Tuscaloosa, held onto the job and has perhaps been better than ever so far this season.

Alabama is turning the offensive reins back over to Jalen Milroe, but the messy quarterback situation has been only part of the problem. The offensive line has been bullied at times, and the receivers and running backs haven't always shined either.

Number thirteen ranked Alabama is out of the top 10 of The Associated Press college football poll for the first time in eight years and Georgia remains number one. The Bulldogs received fifty seven first-place votes in the AP Top 25.

Ty Simpson helped number ten Alabama shrug off a slow start and beat South Florida. What wasn't certain Saturday was whether the third-stringer played well enough to become the Crimson Tide's starting quarterback.
