The ShoalsFest music festival returns to Florence next week. Six-time Grammy winner Jason Isbell is the driving force behind the event. His musical roots in the Shoals run deep. One of Isbell’s mentors was David Hood. He’s a bass guitarist with the group known as the Swampers.

Last Sunday afternoon, hundreds of people gathered in downtown Mobile to remember Jimmy Buffett, who died Saturday, September 2nd. The memorial included most celebrants wearing colorful Hawaiian shirts, grass skirts, flowered leis and hats topped with parrots or shark fins.

The new BJCC STAR Amphitheater will be coming to the city of Birmingham in 2025. The project will cost $50 million.Construction for the new amphitheater will begin early of next year. Tad Snider is the Executive Director of the BJCC. He says this comes after the funding approval for the project.
