The Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex is inviting the public to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the BJCC Concert Hall and Theatre. A commemoration is planned for Saturday, Oct. 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the plaza outside the Concert Hall.

The 2028 Division I Men’s Basketball First and Second Rounds will be hosted by the Southeastern Conference and the city of Birmingham. This championship will take place at Legacy Arena at the Birmingham–Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC) in the Magic City on March 16-19, 2028.

Rhythm and Blues (R&B) royalty is coming to Birmingham to put on a show. Billboard reintroduced R&B in the 1990s to categorize all music made by Black people that is not hip-hop. Lalah Hathaway, five-time GRAMMY award-winning singer, released her seventh studio album, VANTABLACK, two months ago ahead of her tour, which kicks off on Aug. 24 at the BJCC Concert Hall in Birmingham.

The new BJCC STAR Amphitheater will be coming to the city of Birmingham in 2025. The project will cost $50 million.Construction for the new amphitheater will begin early of next year. Tad Snider is the Executive Director of the BJCC. He says this comes after the funding approval for the project.
