The Mobile Parks and Recreation Department is bringing a variety of fitness experts to the heart of downtown Mobile this weekend to help promote personal health and fitness. The Gulf Coast Fitness Palooza will take place in Mardi Gras Park on Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16.

The University of North Alabama is embarking on a tradition of encouraging 1,830 donors to give to the institution throughout March as part of the 1830 Giving Initiative. The campaign's goal for this year is to raise $100 million for UNA.

An annual Auburn event specifically for four-legged friends and their owners is taking place this weekend at Kiesel Park. The Bark in the Park event will kick off with the Tails and Trail 3K at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 16.

The City of Mobile Adult Field Day is a throwback to grade school, built with adults in mind. All the classic field day games like tug of war, relay races, obstacle courses and more will be played at Herndon-Sage Park on Saturday, March 23.

The City of Huntsville’s Beautification Board is now accepting nominations for the 2024 Huntsville Beautification Awards. The deadline to submit the entry form and $50 fee for each property nominated is Monday, April 8. Judging will take place after Memorial Day.

The public is invited to embark on a wild adventure at the 48th Annual Zoo Weekend. The event is taking place at the Montgomery Zoo on Saturday and Sunday, March 16-17, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily, with the last admission at 5:00 p.m.

The City of Gulf Shores is partnering with Gulf Shores City Schools to host the inaugural “Gulf Shores Gives Back Day,” a day of service for the Gulf Shores community. The events kick off on Thursday, March 14, at 8:30 a.m. with a pep rally on the practice field of Gulf Shores Middle School.
