Alabama moved up two spots to number six in the AP Top 25 poll. Missouri, which started 5-0, fell two spots to Number 16 after its three-point home loss to the Tide. Alabama was followed by Texas Tech, Oregon, Georgia and LSU.

Number eight ranked Alabama scraped out a 27-24 victory over number fourteen. The Tide sealing the deal with a fourth-quarter interception from Dijon Lee Jr. with 37 seconds left. It’s Alabama’s third straight SEC win, sending the Crimson Tide to 5-1 on the season and emerging as a true contender.

Ty Simpson threw for 200 yards and three touchdowns, including the clincher on fourth down to Daniel Hill with 3:16 to go, and eighth-ranked Alabama held off number fourteen ranked Missouri 27-24 on Saturday to give the Crimson Tide their fifth consecutive win.

Alabama hosts Kentucky tomorrow in Tuscaloosa after back to back losses to Auburn and Missouri. The Crimson Tide is playing it’s final regular season games before the start of March Madness. Mizzou coach Dennis Gates headed off students who might have charged onto the court in celebration after the Tigers upset Alabama on Wednesday.

Alabama ticked up to number 14 in the APR Top 25 after delivering the first ever shutdown of Missouri since 2019. The Tigers spent most of the Tide's Homecoming game without its starting quarterback and the backup threw three interceptions as The Tide beat Mizzou thirty four to nothing.

It’s homecoming at the University of Alabama. But, tomorrow’s football between the Crimson Tide and Missouri has all the earmarks of a playoff elimination match. Alabama started the season ranked fifth and spent a week at number one after Georgia. Then came losses at Vanderbilt and Tennessee.

Those top 10 rankings have fallen by the wayside for Alabama and Missouri. Still clinging to playoff hopes, the 15th-ranked Crimson Tide and No. 21 Tigers meet Saturday in Tuscaloosa for what amounts to a virtual elimination game.
