Young artists in grades 2-3 explore a variety of artistic mediums, practice creative thinking and problem solving, develop new tools for self-expression, and, most importantly, have fun making art! Our teaching artist will guide young artists through projects tailored to their age and skill levels to help them develop as artists and build important creative skills.

Young artists in grades 6-8 continue to improve upon their art-making skills with a focus on foundations and conceptual thinking.

Young artists who wish to apply to the Alabama School of Fine Arts will receive guidance during the application process including portfolio review and development.

All skill levels are welcome.

City Center Art for high school students is a rigorous multi-media art class with a balance of foundations/essential skills and independent projects. With guidance from the teaching artist, students will increase their observational drawing skills, further their technical control of various mediums and develop and execute individually conceived projects to further their technical control of various mediums and strengthen their conceptual skills.

In addition, students will learn about art-related careers and opportunities. Juniors and seniors receive guidance for college applications and essays while building visual arts portfolios to increase college opportunities.

All skill levels are welcome.

Join us every first Saturday of the month at The Sanctuary – Jubilee Community Center for a joyful and inclusive Community Drum Circle. This is a welcoming space where people of all ages and musical abilities can come together to create unified rhythms, connect with others, and celebrate community through music.
Whether you stay for the full session or drop in for a while, you’ll be part of something uplifting and energizing. No musical experience is needed—just bring your curiosity and spirit.
We’ll have some extra drums, sticks, and shakers available, but feel free to bring your own percussion instruments (sticks, shakers, small boxes, plastic bowls, or simply your hands!).

December 6th, Vienna Light Orchestra Christmas Tour 2026 arrives at The BJCC Concert Hall in Birmingham, AL. Inspired by the spirit of Vienna, the birthplace of orchestral music and home to some of the world’s most celebrated Christmas concerts, Vienna Light Orchestra presents an unforgettable holiday concert experience blending soaring soprano voices, lush symphonic arrangements, and theatrical Christmas magic. Over 2,000 flickering candlelights illuminate a breathtaking Christmas tree forest as world-class musicians and vocalists bring beloved holiday classics to life, along with a few Christmas surprises along the way. Young artists in grades 4-5 work in a variety of mediums such as paint, clay, charcoal, and ink. They will practice and expand on their skills in drawing, color theory, art history, studio maintenance, and how to formally evaluate their own artwork and the artwork of others.

Mobile Vocal Arts – an intergenerational Choral Society opportunity offered to the residents of Mobile and Baldwin Counties – is beginning its 27th season on Monday, August 18th, 2025.
This choral organization has given performances in Carnegie Hall and in European capitals on several occasions. Membership in the Choral Society is open to all interested individuals who love to sing and who are open to performing a wide range/variety of music genre/concerts. There is NO membership fee.
Rehearsals are held at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church located at 1050 Azalea Road in Mobile. Rehearsals begin at 7:00 p.m. Mobile Vocal Arts prepares and presents approximately – five to six concerts in their ten and a half-month season that begins in late August and runs to late June.
