In this program, two bereaved fathers—one Israeli, one Palestinian—recount parallel stories of grief and the unique choice towards reconciliation. Join peace activists Bassam Aramin and Rami Elhanan as they describe their journeys from loss to an outspoken advocacy of a shared human spirit.
Held in partnership with the American Friends of the Parents Circle-Families Forum (AFPC-FF), this panel will explore the ways that violence changes us, and what we can do with the space grief has left.
As the cycle of violence in Israel-Palestine continues, join us as we strive to transcend the narrative of the “other,” celebrating the shared humanity that exists in both struggle and solidarity.
Don’t miss this exclusive, transformative event.

This will be held at Mt. Hope Baptist Church Soccer Field next to the church. Each class will be responsible for their own setup such as canopies, bringing their own chairs, decorations, food, setup and cleanup, etc. We would love for everyone to have their class years posted in front of their area to make it easy for everyone to find. Former and current staff as well as Classes 1969 and under should bring their own chairs and will be set up under the pavilion. There will be food/ drink vendors . We do have drinks available which have been donated by Pepsi. There will be a little fundraiser to pay for anything we may have to rent. Whatever is leftover will be split up to go to Mt. Hope School to go for new playground equipment and Mt. Hope Baptist Church for the continuation of building a community park/ walking track. Any donations( big or small) will go for a good community cause and will be greatly appreciated!
If you are interested in helping to organize or participate, please feel free to contact us.
I know we're late in posting but we just received confirmation on a place to have this.
This event is for anyone whoever attended, graduated, or worked at Mt. Hope School. Please make plans to attend.
